In recent studies, people who ate this recommended amount of grapefruit each day over a long period of time experienced significant weight loss. With all other variables being equal, the designers of the study have shown that grapefruit is the source of weight loss. It is not entirely clear at present what the true reason behind the weight loss is; there are a couple of possibilities as to why exactly grapefruit has this effect on people, but at present, its only known that it does, indeed, have an effect on weight loss. For the average consumer, this is evidence enough, but some people are more interested in the whys and the hows of how grapefruit has this effect on the human body. The possibilities are outlined below.

Grapefruit scores a six on the glycemic index, which means that it provides fiber without causing a spike in glucose (blood-sugar levels). This is a very important consideration, especially for diabetics, pre-diabetics, and everyone who notices differences when eating sugary foods, especially when eating sugar on an empty stomach. Grapefruit is now being investigated for its effect on insulin production and insulin levels in the body. Researchers are trying to find the link, the evidence, that grapefruit has a positive effect on regulating insulin levels in humans.

The Grapefruit Juice Diet plan cuts out a couple of important food groups. The diet plan is a strict one and should be religiously followed. In this way the body will miss out other nutrients that are not in the diet. Most foods are good for your health, but only when they are eaten in moderation. Whenever you start a diet, you must eat a balanced meal, get lots of exercise and get lots of rest for yourself.

Grapefruit is a highly beneficial fruit, especially because it is believed to have inimitable fat burning enzymes. According to studies, researchers came to the conclusion that the people with the Grapefruit Juice Diet had lost a lot of weight. Another beneficial element of the grapefruit is its assistance in the management of insulin levels. The studies showed that the individuals on the Grapefruit Juice Diet definitely had lower levels of insulin and blood sugar than they had at the beginning of the study.

Lunch includes a salad. Lunch is another half of a grapefruit, a portion of meat and possible a salad. For dinner, it is another half grapefruit with a portion of meat, a salad and a cup of tea or coffee.

Grapefruit is a good food, but so are other healthy foods like vegetables and other fruits. Grapefruit diets are simple fat burning plans having the all so important beta carotene to squash the killer cholesterol. So it is little wonder that it is called a heart health diet fruit. Grapefruit Diet : Verdict Grapefruit does not contain any fat burning properties and all weight that is lost is due to the diets 800 -1000 calorie intake. Grapefruit is a healthy fruit that is fat free and low in calories but any similar diet based on any fruit would work.

Let's see, do you have enough space for all that has happened since I have lost my weight so far?  When I started this program on May 6, 2005 I weighed 281.1 lbs.  I was having severe back and knee problems to the point I was having to go to the emergency room.  Now since I am a CT Tech in a hospital and work mainly out of the ER, you can imagine the last place I want to go on my time off is back to work.. haha. I knew what had worked in the past for me and realized that it was when I was living at home and my parents cooked our meals that made it so successful.  I don't like to cook and it never made sense to cook for one person.  I researched the internet for programs that provided my food for me.  I really wanted one that had real food rather than processed food.  My sister sent me your website because she had heard of it from a friend.  I read and read and thought about it and came to the conclusion that this was probably the one for me.  Boy was I right!!

The food is fantastic and I love the fact that I don't have to cook or clean 
up!!  I can tell you that in the 1 1/2 yrs that I have been losing weight, I haven't had problems with my knees or back, my feet and lower legs don't swell, I am exercising and now even training for the Walt Disney Half Marathon in speed walking! Next goal will be a mini triathlon. I have tried rock climbing...and even made it up to the top of the wimp wall (the easiest one).  It was so weird, when I started that climb, my fat self was saying that there is no way that I can climb it but my new skinnier self was saying yes I can because I am healthier now and I was right.  I now have men looking at me, flirting with me and that is so foreign.  I have been heavy pretty much all of my life and never really got the guy's attention.  I haven't quite figured out how to handle it yet, but is sure is fun trying...  Everyday, someone either at work or when I am out and about, will make a comment on how great I am doing.  
 

I absolutely feel 1000% different and better physically, mentally and
emotionally.  Well, you know, I could go on and on and on but I think
you get the drift.  Thank you so much for the service you provide!!  I am
not going to say you saved my life, but you helped me save my life.
